My son often brings his dog over to stay at my house during the summer or when work calls him away from home for any length of time. My son's dog, (I'll just call him, "The General", to protect his identity, ha! ha!) obviously has issues with large dogs! "The General" is not a small dog in any way, shape or form; he's an English Bulldog, and really is quite stout. Anyway, "The General" seems to have some kind of complex with bigger and/or larger dogs. He barks hysterically at a much older lab that lives caddy-corner to us and can bark at him non-stop for hours-if you let him. I'm sure this is getting rather annoying for our neighbors. I'm sure of this because it's getting rather annoying for us too. I don't believe my neighbors care that "The General" is only here visiting and will be leaving next week, not at 3 o'clock in the morning anyway. So why am I bringing this up? Well many companies now offer Pet Insurance. I know Progressive does if you get into an accident while your dog is in the car with you and he gets injured. This won't be the type of insurance I'll need for "The General." No, if my neighbors get a hold of him I'll need a whole different kind of pet coverage- more like pet health insurance, which I know many vets offer these days. In any event, I think tomorrow I'll tell you about the benefits of Pet Coverage with auto carriers. Just in case you and your pet find yourself in a car accident. And in the meantime, I'll make a phone call to my son and see if "The General" has pet health insurance, you know- just is in case!
